NickVegas from GreyscaleGorilla started the year with a really insightful Cinema 4D and After Effects tutorial called Camera Projection and GI in Cinema 4D .He goes through setting up the scene in C4D, the exporting, color correction in After Effects and the compositing. 2 thumbs up. Noel Cruz: Celebrity Doll Painter

I just came across the wow factor. It is the work by Noel Cruz. He is an artist whose present crusade is to improve upon the affinity for celebrity dolls by repainting them. He’s been featured in many readings from the NY Daily to Star Magazine. His dolls were painted with such mastery that each earned their rightful place in the Hollywood Doll Walk Of Fame. Enjoy.

Jeff Soto is a Southern California based artist inspired by inspired by childhood toys, the colorful lifestyle of skateboarding and graffiti, hip-hop and popular culture. His work, generally has a darker undertone with blasts of rich colors. I totally dig his style. Environmental issues also take precedent for Soto, who is concerned with conflict of humans trying to harness, or take advantage of nature. His paintings exude this tension, as robotic creatures duel, organic tentacles and flower bouquets thrive, and black smog looms amidst floating, ominous skulls. I got that straight from his bio. J Dilla’s Nothing Like This Video

This is one of my favorite videos. I dig what they do at Mixtape Club, the directors of this piece, Nothing Like This by J-Dilla off the Adult Swim/Stones Throw Records collaboration, Chrome Children. And Dilla… well, its Dilla, I don’t have to say anything else. Nothing Like This was selected for official competition in the 2007 Bitfilm Festival, 2007 Pictoplasma Animation Festival, and 2007 Swerve Festival. Enjoy.
